Driver Evaluation

A Driver Evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s abilities as it relates to safe driving. It is the first step for all other services. The evaluation provides information regarding a person's capabilities and challenges for operating a motor vehicle. The process and testing varies depending on the reason the person is being seen.

Driver Training

Driver Training Services are available to individuals who have successfully completed a driver evaluation and received training recommendations from the evaluating therapist. To be eligible for training services a driver must have a valid learner’s permit or license. Teens under 18 need to complete classroom driver’s education via their high school and have a Restricted Instruction Permit (SBTS-800 form) provided by the drivers education instructor.

Vehicle Fittings

Vehicle fittings are an integral part of the vehicle modification process and assure proper fit and placement of all controls relative to the client’s driving position and abilities. Fittings assure the best interface between the driver, the vehicle, any assistive mobility devices utilized, and the driving controls. Vehicle Fittings are provided for individuals who have successfully completed a driver evaluation.
